Sedona, one of the safest cities in Arizona, has about 19 square miles, of which private landowners own 51% and 49% belongs to Coconino National Forest.

Sedona hosts several annual events that draw locals and visitors alike including Red Rocks Music Festival, Sedona Winefest, Sedona Arts Festival, Festival of Trees at Tlaquepaque, the Festival of Lights - the Lighting of 6,000 Luminarias, Sedona Winter MusicFest, Sedona Marathon Event, Sedona International Film Festival, Sedona Mountain Bike Festival, Sedona Yoga Festival, Sedona Photofest, Sedona's Annual National Day of the Cowboy Celebration, Sedona Plein Air Festival.  The Sedona Performing Arts Center, Chamber Music Sedona and the Sedona Arts Center are just a sample of the organizations that provide opportunities for artists, actors and theatergoers.
